Training

Employee technical training in conjunction with adequate project documentation is crucial in the reduction of equipment downtime in any manufacturing environment.  Cooper Engineering’s staff have conducted training courses for a variety of customers on subjects ranging from Basics of Electricity, AB PLC Programming to Burner Management Maintenance and Burner Controls.

Technical Training Programs

Cooper Engineering’s technical training programs are tailored to the customers needs through a series of employee skill level assessment examinations.   The results of these tests are then used to compile the training materials and course outlines.  Employee retention levels are reported to the plant managers and measured through final tests that are conducted at the end of every seminar.  These training courses are also available in Spanish.

Equipment Commissioning and Start-Up

Our engineers are experienced in commissioning a wide variety of systems.  We have commissioned systems in wide variety of industries from water/waste water, combustion and burner management systems, custom equipment controls, handling equipment and many facility upgrades.

The commissioning of any equipment or system requires a detailed work plan, easy check lists and verification that the equipment has been installed in accordance with the plans.  Any pre-start up testing is perfomed prior to the equipment start-up to reduce the on-site time and once commissioning starts.  We perform complete loop checks and I/O checks of the entire system.  The equipment performance once operational is analysed to ensure compliance to the specifications.  A complete report is issued detailing the start up procedures and problems encountered.
This information would be in the operation and maintenance manual for the equipment provided for in the training and documentation requirements.

Equipment Manuals

Once the equipment has been installed and commissioned, the equipment manuals supplied with the system provide the basis for the operator and maintenance training. The training can be provided at the machine and in a classroom environment. Of course all health and safety requirements are detailed to ensure safe operation of the equipment. Manuals are provided in electronic format, using Acrobat  (create link to Acrobat, and ability to download reader)
The manuals include all the information expected with any new equipment, equipment description, Technician’s guide, Operator’s guide, Safety Manual, component data sheets, all the equipment drawings, trouble shooting guides and continued support as required to update the manual based upon operating experience.
